Social media campaign focused around dutch heritage
of KLM and especially traditional Delftware.

As a lead designer I came up with whole "journey through the sky" feel of the campaign (online and offline) that ties well into the KLM broader communication based around "Journeys of inspiration" tagline. Together with Creative and Art Directors I was involved in briefing logo designer, illustrator and production company providing guideance in order to achieve top execution and trying to keep whole art direction withing dutch heritage feel strongly based around aesthetics of Delft Blue tiles.

First of philips.com environment category pages I designed. With time it became a reference point for redesigns of remaining product category pages. The challenge was to make it easy for visitors to consume big load of informations. I had to adjust designs to technical limitations of existing platform. One of most difficult parts of the project was designing grid based ranges and its' features list which had to be designed the way to highlight top products lines while not making basic lines look cheap. It was about making it clear there is a right fit for everyone.

Another philips.com category pages I've designed, this time for men's shavers. The challenge was to come up with design that fit visual aesthetics of shavers. It was achieved by using different shades of blue and silver colors to resemble metalic details of shavers as well as by subtle interface animations.

The innovative KLM branded service that helps people find travel destinations matching their affinity by collecting social media content tagged with that affinity in relation to these destinations.

One of very complex projects I had a chance to work on as a lead designer. My task was to come up with an intuitive interface, that would become an everyday-use tool. Design had to be made for HTML5 build, therefore it required smart design treatments in order to make animations feasible. Currently KLM Travlr is released as beta version. It was a great team effort where I was involved in concepting, design and production stage.

Online selling point based campaign promoting €99 flights
within Europe targeted towards younger audience with
use of lifestyle rich media formats.

As a lead designer I was responsible for designing multiple online media formats including home-pages-takeovers and floor-ads as well as standard banner. I had to work with an existing TVC as a starting point. It was consisting of a series lifestyle-urban shots taken in various european cities. The goal of the campaign was to reach an unusual for KLM target audience — young people. Original TVC concept was based on snapshot-like shots of city travelers — it already was a step forward for KLM. As a lead designer I was asked to take it even further for online. I came up with scalable, grid-based, yet engaging form that was morphing into different shapes, communicating both, the selling points as well as ATL campaign elements.

I was involved as a designer and concepter for series of Gucci Guilty fragrance launch campaign materials. Whole line of banners and concepts around them were based on TVC by Frank Miller we were given. Working with demanding italian advertising agency — a supplier of all Gucci Guilty ATL materials was a major experience itself. We had to adjust to especially rigorous brand guidelines. The task was a true training of detail crafting and required a strong style sensibility.

As a lead designer I designed few different versions of Philips global YouTube channel. I had to deliver a design that would cater for new video content distribution strategy introducing new categorisation of videos. Series of templates I designed had to allow easy theming. Numerous variants of players were designed along with unique interface solutions that were aiming at intuitive user experience and flawles user journeys.

As a lead designer working closely with UX designer and Design Director I came up with design for new philips.com category pages for Philips headphones. The challenge was to create an engaging range selector interface as well as designs for four different headphones ranges. Each of four ranges have different consumer profiles therefore visual style and messaging tone had to be significantly different in each of them. It was very important though to retain consistent brand's feel.

Facebook based competition.

As a lead designer I designed series of screens for Facebook tab and wall posts. The campaign was based around 4 videos of different nationality chefs presenting dishes from new menu.The challenge was to develope a visual style that would resemble the feel of an international restaurant.

About me

I'm polish and I'm currently based in Amsterdam (Netherlands), working full-time as Senior Designer at TribalDDB Amsterdam where I've started in April 2010 after nearly 1 year of travels around Asia with my wife Marta. Before our travels I was working as a Senior Interactive Designer at Amnesia Razorfish (Sydney, Australia) between July 2007 and April 2009, further in the past as an Art Director at Argonauts (Gray Warsaw, Poland) for 3 years. My experience reaches though even further before year 2000 when I've started working on commercial projects as a remote freelancer.

Currently at TribalDDB as a Senior Designer I'm responsible for leading design work for major projects for major clients such as KLM or Philips.

I work closely with Creative Directors, Art Directors, Design Directors, UX Designers, Strategists and Copywriters as well as overseeing work of Junior and Mid-weight Designers.

Due to big scale and complexity of projects I was working on, I was taking active role in many disciplines from concepting, designing, working closely with production companies overseeing work quality by briefing and providing feedback as well as facing clients during designs presentations. My experience gave me broad understanding of technical specifics of digital advertising which I believe is crucial at the very core of the design proccess.

I believe limitles, innovative thinking are some of main values allowing growth for both, the creative agencies and clients businesses.

What drives me? Making great stuff, work—wise and besides that. That's why I still run my online magazine Diggin.pl dealing with contributors, events promoters, DJs, fashion designers etc. What do I like? I'm enjoying travelling, trekking, diving and since I live in Amsterdam, biking on regular basis (preferably on a racing bike!).
