A Kind Of Guise for autumn and winter Polypop — 05.09.2012 in

It’s going to be cold soon, so check out ‘A Kind Of Guise‘ boys.
It started off as a student project during the summer of 2009. What was first nothing more than creating stuff for friends and relatives, soon developed into something much bigger.
The collections of A Kind Of Guise feature a mix of a wide variety of styles, putting effort into every piece’s uniqueness with a special focus on color and detail.
Most importantly, we want to create long-lasting products with original ideas and great quality. Each item’s wearability is as important to us as its integration into the collection as a whole.

TheWeekender Tomasz Greber — 12.03.2012 in

Thanks to last weekend visit in Berlin I’ve discovered The Weekender. Very nicely published magazine with great contents and nice paper feel. 4th issue is the one I’ve managed to get and it’s a special one, since it’s now a year since the first one. If you are curious of how other people live, what they do and get some inspiration, The Weekender is for you. Just so you know, it’s being published in german, some of articles though can be read in english.

Kutmah presents Worldwide Family Vol.2 Tomasz Greber — 02.03.2012 in

I’d say compilations are more valuable these days since there is so much music floating in the air and even more repetitions and copy cats running around. Not everyone has an ear for quality stuff and just like in cooking, sometimes it’s possible to appreciate the ingredients only when they are combined and served on a proper plate. Check out 2nd vol. of Worldwide Family series coming up at Brownswood Recordings, compiled by LA’s Kutmah residing in London.

An idea of Do The Right Print, Food for ya Soul & Feelin’ Music, bringing different beatmakers from around the world to perpetuate J-Dilla’s art, in order to give to the audience a new vision of his creations…”

Sgustok Music Tomasz Greber — 02.02.2012 in

Sgustok Music is a belarusian label founded in 2008 by twin brothers Denisa and Dmitry Kovalev. It’s a branch of Sgustok Magazine. Both platforms are damn worth following. Listen to our selection of tracks released by various artists, it’s somewhere between pure electronica, minimal, ambient and house sounds.

WE DON’T TRY TO BE LIMITED TO ONE STYLE, ONE SOUNDING, WE DON’T WANT TO EXIST IN ONE SUBCULTURE, TO BE RESTRICTED BY FRAMES. ON THE CONTRARY, WE WANT TO CONSTANTLY DISSOLVE, DILUTE AND EXPAND THE LABEL. MOVING BETWEEN STRUCTURES IS THE MAIN PRINCIPLE OF EXISTENCE OF SGUSTOK MUSIC, WHICH HELPS TO AVOID LIMITATION.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR MUSIC WHICH IS SATIATED WITH PUNGENT SENSUAL AND EMOTIONAL QUALITIES. SOMETHING LIGHT, SIMPLE, UNDERSTANDABLE, AND AT THE SAME TIME PENETRATINGLY DEEP AND POWERFUL. WE ARE STRIVING FOR SOMETHING UNCONSCIOUS AND HARD TO FORMULATE THAT IS ALWAYS SLIPPING AWAY.

Skin, a documentary by Ryan Hope Tomasz Greber — 01.02.2012 in

A documentary that makes me want to design my own tattoo and get it made well.

“Directed by Ryan Hope, Skin is a dark, stylish examination of tattoo culture as high art, and a film that tests the boundaries of art and the human body.”

Thursday, Sunday from Melbourne Polypop — 25.01.2012 in

Thursday, Sunday – two girls from Melbourne – Iris Cuaresma and Mara Tonetti, who design some good clothes. The label began simply because the Melbourne based duo shared similar inspirations and an aesthetic that is both nostalgic, yet refreshing.

The passion drove them to begin their label, which in two seasons has instantaneously captured the attention of stylists and bloggers alike.

BRICS’ coats and philosophy Polypop — 24.01.2012 in

BRICS is the result of a vision to create garments for those who seek individual identity within simplicity and minimalism.

BRICS originates from the philosophic notion of bricolage, which focus on the ability to sculpt and assemble components and think across the existing and new. In its core BRICS is the option that actualizes into reality in order to create a unique identity. There is no given formula – the infinite possibilities lies within the individual.

Louie — Female Sensitivity Tomasz Greber — 24.01.2012 in

Song as pretty as the singer and her voice.

“This is a collaboration between Louie and producer Robin Hannibal of Quadron.”

Don’t you know
That I think about you all the time
But I really want to get you off my mind
Too many thoughts I’ve wasted, on wishful thinking baby

Holding your breath doesn’t get you too far
When you really really want someone
But boy, I’ll show you the way it ought to be

Just you and me, Just you and me

So you know that I gotta get you outta my mind
Cause I don’t know what you’re looking to find
I’m a girl with sensitivity, and you are lacking creativity

Holding your breath doesn’t get you too far
When you really really want someone
But boy, I’ll show you the way it ought to be

Just you and me, Just you and me

Holding your breath doesn’t get you too far
When you really really want someone
But boy, I’ll show you the way it ought to be

Just you and me, Just you and me

Holding my breath too far, really want someone
I really want someone
Just you and me
Just you and me

Lapalux — When You’re Gone Tomasz Greber — 17.01.2012 in

“…Lapalux bathes your brain in lush textures, surprising and explosive atmospheres set in unencountered, unearthly spaces, all somehow perfectly set against catchy rolling choruses informed by pop and commercial R&B. On the “When You’re Gone” EP he channels and refines his sound and shapes it into hazy, woozy emotion. Whether working with a singer like Py (on “Moments”), or deconstructing found samples and his own voice, Howard stretches, bends and warps sound to make soul – not plastic posturing but real emotion made of synthetic sound.”

Overall it sounds intimate. Smells like LuckyMe, The Weeknd… Available 7th of Feb on Brainfeeder.
